Plan an Easy Half Day at PAMM

Plan a first PAMM visit with hours, ticket prices, Thursday free entry, Metromover access, parking, accessibility, dining, and a half-day route.
Pérez Art Museum Miami (PAMM) works best as a focused art-and-waterfront outing. Allow about two hours for the galleries, architecture and terrace, or add lunch and a walk beside Biscayne Bay for a relaxed half day.
Choose your visit time, ticket type and transportation; the planner shows your known cost and any timing caveats.

The total covers one admission ticket and, when selected, standard PAMM garage parking.
Admission: Free for everyone after 5 p.m. Thursday. Take an Omni Loop Metromover train serving Museum Park. Reserve admission ahead because capacity-controlled tickets can sell out.

The Building Is Part of the Visit
PAMM presents international modern and contemporary art through the perspective of the Americas. Its bayfront building, designed by Herzog & de Meuron, is also part of the experience: extensive outdoor space connects the museum to Biscayne Bay (Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau).
The hanging gardens, deep roof, shaded plaza and open-air terrace deserve time rather than a quick pass on the way inside. Arriving with a short list of exhibition priorities leaves room to enjoy both the art and the waterfront setting.
PAMM Is Closed Tuesday and Wednesday
PAMM’s published schedule is:
| Day | Hours |
|---|---|
| Monday | 11 a.m.–6 p.m. |
| Tuesday–Wednesday | Closed |
| Thursday | 11 a.m.–9 p.m. |
| Friday–Sunday | 11 a.m.–6 p.m. |
General admission is $18 for adults. Admission is $14 for seniors 62 and older, students with ID, and visitors ages 7–18. Children 6 and younger enter free.
PAMM also lists free admission for active U.S. military members and veterans, Florida educators, healthcare professionals, first responders, and visitors identifying as disabled with an accompanying caregiver. Confirm current eligibility and any documentation requirements when reserving.
Admission is free for everyone on Thursday after 5 p.m. This is the straightforward budget choice if an evening visit fits your schedule, but reserve ahead. PAMM says tickets are capacity-controlled and can sell out. Ticket sales stop 30 minutes before closing (PAMM visitor information and tickets).
Check PAMM’s current exhibitions page before choosing a date. Temporary exhibitions and collection presentations change, so the program should determine which galleries receive most of your time.
A First Visit Works Best With Two Exhibition Priorities
Start outside with the building and bay rather than going directly to the galleries. Look across the plaza, notice the hanging gardens and roof structure, and get oriented before entering.
Inside, choose one major temporary exhibition and one collection presentation as priorities. This avoids turning the visit into a rushed circuit through every room and leaves time to stop with individual works.
Public tours are first come, first served. The schedule includes general tours and selected Black Art, Pride and Spanish-language tours, with offerings varying by day. Consult the current public-tour schedule before building your visit around one.
Finish on the terrace and allow roughly 20–30 minutes for the outdoor areas and Biscayne Bay view. On a hot or stormy afternoon, keep that portion flexible and use the galleries as the indoor anchor.
Museum Park Station Is the Useful Transit Stop
PAMM is at 1103 Biscayne Boulevard, between the Adrienne Arsht Center and Kaseya Center. The museum garage, passenger drop-off and other arrival details are shown on PAMM’s directions page.
The useful transit stop is Museum Park station on Metromover’s Omni Loop. Metromover is free, serves Downtown, Omni and Brickell, and operates from 5:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily (Miami-Dade County Metromover information). Government Center provides the central connection between Metromover and Metrorail.
From Downtown or Brickell, take Metromover toward an appropriate transfer point and use an Omni Loop train serving Museum Park. Whether you need to transfer depends on your starting station. Check the platform display for the train’s destination rather than assuming every train serves Museum Park.
From Miami International Airport, take Metrorail toward Government Center and transfer there to an Omni Loop Metromover train for Museum Park. On weekends, Orange Line trains operate as an airport shuttle between MIA and Earlington Heights, requiring a transfer there to the Green Line before continuing to Government Center. Service patterns can vary, so check the county trip planner for your day and time (Miami-Dade County Metrorail information).
For a clearer explanation of the two systems, see Metrorail vs. Metromover for visitors. Check service notices before leaving because maintenance can temporarily affect individual loops or stations.
The PAMM Garage Has a Flat $18 Rate
PAMM’s garage offers paid self-parking during museum hours, subject to available space. The listed rate is a flat $18. PAMM members receive a $7 discount after validating the parking ticket at Visitor Services.
The museum identifies the Omni garage at 1645 Biscayne Boulevard and nearby public lots as alternatives. Motorcycles and scooters cannot use the PAMM garage.
Because the on-site price is flat rather than hourly, driving is easier to justify when PAMM is the main outing or you plan to stay on the waterfront afterward. For a gallery visit from a Downtown or Brickell base, free Metromover avoids both the parking charge and uncertainty about garage space.
Galleries and Facilities Are Wheelchair Accessible
All galleries and facilities are wheelchair accessible. Complimentary wheelchairs are available at Visitor Services in exchange for an ID, and elevators connect the garage, entrance and upper floors. An accessible entrance is to the right of the main lobby doors.
Visitors who need a cart for ADA access to the sculpture garden should reserve one through Visitor Services. PAMM requests at least two weeks’ notice when possible for sign-language interpretation, CART or printed materials in alternative formats (PAMM accessibility information).
Travel Luggage Cannot Enter the Galleries
Do not arrive expecting to carry travel luggage through the museum. PAMM says bags and luggage cannot enter the galleries, while storage options are subject to availability. If you are between hotel check-in and a flight, arrange luggage storage before reaching the museum.
Strollers are allowed. Personal, noncommercial photography is generally permitted without flash, although restrictions may apply in individual galleries (PAMM visitor policies).
Verde Keeps Lunch on the Waterfront
For a meal without leaving the waterfront setting, choose Verde, PAMM’s on-site restaurant. It has limited indoor seating and an outdoor terrace. Restaurant service ends at 4 p.m. Monday and Friday through Sunday and at 8 p.m. Thursday. The separate Verde Bistro Bar remains open until 5:30 p.m. Monday and Friday through Sunday and until 8:30 p.m. Thursday (PAMM dining information). Reserve if the meal is central to your plan.
Do not treat every Downtown restaurant as immediately adjacent. The central business district, Bayside and Miami Worldcenter are separate walking or Metromover decisions, particularly in heat or rain. Use the Downtown Miami dining guide for broader choices after the museum.
The easiest extension stays along the waterfront: walk through the surrounding park or pair PAMM with the neighboring Frost Science museum. Families visiting both should choose priorities instead of trying to complete every exhibit. The Frost Science guide for families can help shape that plan.
